Review

The i30N Performance is Hyundai's first proper attempt at a hot hatch.

With 271bhp, it doesn't have the raw power of a Ford Focus RS or Honda Civic Type R, but it does boast some very trick chassis tuning. 

To find out if it's a match for the best in class we took it to the most challenging circuit in the UK, Cadwell Park. Having been developed on the Nurburgring the i30N Performance should be right at home on Cadwell Park's tight turns and tumbling gradients.

Some car this, the i30N.

Quite how it managed only three-and-a-half stars in the recent autocar roadtest - and how it managed to garner so many negative remarks from the roadtest team - will always be a mystery. It seems the latter simply had an agenda against this car.

Steve Sutcliffe for one couldn't find enough superlatives as he heaped praise on the i30N's outstanding chassis balance, grip, steering feel, brakes etc during his test drive for evo magazine (available on youtube).
Ditto it seems with the tester in the above video.

used for a track review ? Interesting as it is to be talked around Cadwell it didn't leave much time to mention the car.

It might be nice to see a video of the other version of this car, just to see if less is more ?
