Here it is, then, the most luxurious off-roader in the world. The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is a big, bold (oh my, is it bold) 4x4 weighing in at 2.7 tonnes.

Rolls-Royce wants it to be the most luxurious off-roader in the world. It's more expensive than its rivals - only the Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus get close - and is packed with lavish trim and equipment.

And we've tested it, on-road and off. Join us inside the Cullinan for a smooth, quiet ride.

Tough competition

Would this vehicle (it certainly is not a car) win the ugliest SUV competion, It would certainly be amonst the runners-up, in fact it's a toss-up betwwen this monstrosity and the Discovery eyesore. Could also be used as a removal van, or as others have suggested a taxi

Hmmm..

Have just shown this video to my wife. After the first exterior shot her first words were "Is this a joke?"

Summed up my first impression perfectly.

Starting to grow on me

Isn't it the mark of a good design that it requires you to do a double-take, and that it grows on you with time. Something that you like immediately tends to age more quickly. For what it's worth, it's growing on me. I have briefly driven a Phantom (60 miles or so) and it does feel special like little else. I should imagine that the Cullinan will give that same pleasant feeling, if you can stomach the envious looks. Some may feel pity, but I suspect the last laugh is on those inside.
