Currently reading: Hybrid SUV tax cut?

Lexus is lobbying the Government to make its first luxury hybrid car, the petrol-electric RX400h, qualify for the same tax breaks as parent company Toyota’s Prius (right).

If it succeeds, the hybrid SUV could go on sale in spring 2005 with a Powershift grant of around £1000 off the purchase price, and concessions on road tax and London’s Congestion Charge.
