The Beijing motor show has opened for 2016, with new models from some of the country's biggest domestic manufacturers making their debuts alongside key cars from Western brands. As ever, Autocar is on the ground to bring you the latest news from China's biggest car show.

Beijing 2016 - the key cars

Audi TT RS - the hottest version of the latest Audi TT gets 395bhp from its 2.5-litre, five-cylinder petrol engine, and will go on sale in the UK in both coupé and Roadster forms from October.

Audi A4 L - This stretched version of the Audi A4 will only be offered with a 2.0-litre petrol engine in China, but its rear cabin should benefit from a substantial increase in legroom.

Bentley Mulsanne First Edition - Just 50 examples of Bentley's range-topping Mulsanne will be built, with each receiving bespoke exterior and interior trim. Each car is expected to cost around £300,000.

BMW X1 Li - Long-wheelbase version of BMW's baby SUV is 79mm longer than the standard car, and will be sold in China wih two petrol engines - the most powerful of which has 228bhp.

DS 4S - The latest car to come from Citroën's luxury brand will only be available in China, and is powered by two 1.6-litre petrol engines.

Infiniti QX Sport Inspiration - Infiniti's latest SUV concept previews the next QX70 SUV, and features futuristic exterior and interior styling.

Jaguar XFL - Jaguar's stretched XF has been designed with Chinese buyers in mind, with rear-seat passengers receiving their own infotainment screens and wireless headhones.

Mazda CX-4 - As its name suggests, the China-only CX-4 sits in between the CX-3 and CX-5 in Mazda's line-up, and is inspired by last year's Koeru concept car.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB - Like Jaguar, BMW and Audi's stretched models, the E-Class LWB's extra length is felt most in the rear, where passengers can enjoy an extra 134mm of legroom.

Porsche 718 Cayman - The sister car to the recently launched 718 Boxster, the 718 Cayman gets 345bhp from a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine in range-topping Cayman S form.

Bentley best in show

The Mulsanne looks wonderful. That interior is a delight. I like the Cayman in that blue as well, and I'm sure the TT RS will be an attractive sports car in a better colour than that dismal grey.

Mitsubishi admit to fiddling eco figures for DECADES.. meanwhile nip out and invest in shares of MM as they are 52% down annd will only go upwards. This is not a little company but notice they have low profile in the show
